The UK DB pensions environment and trustee training needs are ever evolving, emphasised by significant changes such as TPR’s new DB funding code, which is effective for valuations from 22 September 2024. Sam, our AI negotiation sparring partner, is the first and only interactive AI powered pensions training. 

In this immersive training, you take charge of a fictional DB scheme at the start of its valuation negotiation with its sponsor – with the sponsor played by our AI Sam. As the trustee, you will exchange letters with Sam, channelling your arguments and applying the principles of the new funding code to get the best outcome for members while facing a range of real-world challenges. 

A typical training session takes around 1 hour and includes: 

• Brief funding code refresher and scenario introduction
• Around 45 minutes of hands-on negotiation
• Debrief and knowledge sharing

This training requires trustee boards to come together and draw on knowledge across the integrated risk management spectrum (funding, investment, and covenant – as well as end-game and journey planning) in the context of the new funding code
