Cardano appoints Matt Harrison and Sinead Leahy as Co-Heads of Cardano Advisory

28th November 2023

Cardano, the investment management and advisory business, today announces the appointment of Matt Harrison and Sinead Leahy as Co-Heads of Cardano Advisory, effective 1st January 2024. Both Managing Directors, Matt will continue to lead the Trustee Services practice and Sinead will continue to lead the Corporate Advisory Services practice.

After 16 years at Cardano Advisory, Darren Redmayne has decided to step down from being CEO at the end of the year. Darren will continue to be a Board Advisor to Cardano.

Matt Harrison has been a Managing Director at Cardano since 2014 (when it was formerly Lincoln Pensions, acquired by Cardano in 2016). Before Lincoln Pensions, Matt spent over 14 years at EY. He has considerable experience advising some of the UK’s largest and most complex pension schemes on all aspects of employer covenant, scheme specific funding and transaction-related pensions advice.

Sinead joined Cardano in 2022 and spent most of her career, 20 years, at NatWest Markets where she was Head of the Pension Solutions Group and latterly Head of Alternative Asset Distribution. More recently, Sinead was Head of Pension Investment Consulting at PwC and immediately prior to joining Cardano worked with Alpha Real Capital in an advisory capacity. Sinead is an investment specialist with extensive experience working with large schemes and their corporate sponsors across a range of pension issues.

Michael de Lathauwer, Group CEO, Cardano, said: “We are delighted to appoint Matt and Sinead as Co-Heads of Cardano Advisory. Advisory is a core pillar of the business and has grown year on year since Darren and Alex Hutton-Mills co-founded the company, which is a huge testament to the team. I’d like to thank Darren for his leadership, support and guidance and wish him the very best for the future.”

Darren Redmayne said: “The last 16 years have been an incredible journey and I’m very proud of what we have built at Cardano. While it is time for me to step down as CEO, I look forward to my continued involvement with Cardano as a Board Advisor. 2023 is shaping up to be a landmark year for Advisory and we head into 2024 with strong activity across covenant, risk solutions, strategic investment advice and sustainability advisory. It has been a privilege to lead my amazing colleagues and the advisory team are in very capable hands with Matt and Sinead.”
