Our Pride Network strengthens the feeling of belonging among all of us
The purpose of the network is to support LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies both within and outside the workplace. We share the drive to make the workplace even more inclusive and connected. Find out more about how we do this.
Intersectional allyship provides a way to achieve more connected relationships and unleashes potential across all diversity dimensions. Allyship also helps to provide psychological safety and a sense of belonging at work. Within Cardano we recently set up our Pride Network with the aim to strengthen the feeling of belonging among all of us.
The purpose of the network is to support LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies both within and outside the workplace. We intend to do this by creating awareness and normalise conversation around the topic. We will achieve this by organising interactive and educational events, and by valuing and respecting everyone’s unique diversity.
Creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace isn’t easy to get right, but we shouldn’t let perfection be the enemy of good.
Gender inclusive language
Another step we are taking to promote inclusivity is enabling conversations about people’s pronouns. Everyone deserves to have their preferred name and pronouns respected in the workplace, and indicating your own pronouns is of course ultimately a personal choice, however we hope that by leading by example, we will create a safe and comfortable environment to do so.
More about our network
The Pride Network has members from all business units and seniority levels. We share the drive to make the workplace even more inclusive and connected.
Hayley Hiscock: “We think it’s important to support all employees and cherish the diversity of culture, background, race, gender identity and sexual orientation. We want to be a truly open and inclusive organisation. Because it’s the right thing to do, because we all deserve to feel able to bring our whole self to work and because inclusivity creates a powerful environment.”
